Our River, Your Way!

Set sail from our enchanting riverside setting as you enjoy a graceful trip along the iconic River Thames in one of our exclusive boating experiences. Take in the beauty of nature, fascinating wildlife and the picturesque riverside residences of historic Bray and its surrounding villages including The Royal Borough of Windsor.

Take to the River

Our elegant Waterside Inn boat is available for guests to enjoy a leisurely trip along the river — whether for an aperitif, a morning coffee, or simply to take in the beautiful surroundings.

The boat can accommodate up to six passengers, and one member of your party will need to take the helm.

The boat typically operates from mid-April to mid-September. As this is a very popular experience, we strongly recommend reserving your boat in advance.

For your comfort and safety, the boat can only operate when weather and river conditions are suitable. We follow the guidance provided on the Government’s River Thames current conditions, and ask all guests to familiarise themselves with our terms and conditions before taking the boat onto the river.

Summer Sundays

Make Sunday a little more special with an indulgent summer escape at The Waterside Inn.

Your experience includes:

  • A one-hour champagne cruise along the River Thames aboard Dragonfly, our elegant Edwardian saloon launch, departing from The Waterside Inn jetty at 5pm. Join fellow guests and enjoy a glass of champagne as you take in the river views.
  • Homemade cream éclairs, freshly prepared by The Waterside Inn’s Pâtissier and served aboard Dragonfly.
  • Dinner for two, featuring our seven-course tasting menu, Le Menu Exceptionnel.
  • A cookery book by Michel Roux OBE, to take home and enjoy.
  • An overnight stay in the room of your choice.
  • A French continental breakfast, homemade and freshly baked, served in the comfort of your room.

Available on Sundays throughout May, June, July, August and September.

Upgrade to a higher room category is available. Price includes VAT and excludes a discretionary 12.5% service charge. Wines and other drinks are charged as taken.

Skippered Boats

For guests wishing to explore the River Thames by skippered boat, we are delighted to recommend a selection of vessels to suit every occasion—from a cosy boat for two to a traditional Thames steamer accommodating up to 35 guests.

Arriving in Style

Arrive by boat and enjoy a memorable visit to The Waterside Inn. We have two guest moorings available for launches and river boats up to 40 ft in length, with a shallow draft of 2–3 ft.

Please note that our jetty is not suitable for river cruisers or offshore vessels.

Electric charging is available at:

  • £20 for lunch or dinner
  • £30 for an overnight stay

If you are mooring while dining with us, there is no mooring charge.

Guests are also welcome to stay overnight on their boat. Please contact us in advance to reserve a mooring, as availability is limited.
